I inherited my passion for photography from my mother, who filled and narrated dozens of photo albums for my sister and me while we were growing up. She made me appreciate how photography can be a diary of life’s most precious moments, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Throughout my life I have always been that person with her camera out trying to capture every moment, and being able to nail that perfect photo gives me a natural high. My passion for photography grew even more over the course of the last few years due to the arrival of my three beautiful baby boys. Since then, my camera is always at the ready so I can document every adorable moment of their lives.

But doing this professionally never really occurred to me until recently when life threw me a curveball. I earned my BSN from the nursing school at Alverno College, and I spent eight years as a Registered Nurse in both the hospital and the clinical settings. Nursing taught me so much about myself and it is an amazing career. But when one of my employers unexpectedly closed their doors, I was left without a job and was forced to think long and hard about what is best for me and my family. Several of my friends encouraged me to explore professional photography, and with my loving husband’s support I took the leap and I’m so thankful that I did.

I now find myself sitting there editing photos and just smiling. Smiling because I love my job, and smiling because I get to provide families with something that they can treasure forever. Having cherished images of your family’s beautiful memories is an investment of your time, energy and love, but something that you will never regret.
